So What Steps Can i Take to Apply for the North-West University NWU NSFAS for

The application for this bursary is done online on the NSFAS website, which can be accessed by clicking here. This is where the form is obtained from in case you were wondering ‘where can I get NSFAS application form?’.

Before proceeding to apply online, students must have the following documents at their disposal. 

Before you embark on the application process, you ought to know that the process will require you have a couple of documents. These documents include:

  1. The applicant’s Identification card. If the applicant has not attained 16 years, they could use their unabridged birth certificate;
  2. The Identification Documents of the parents or guardians. If one or both of the parents are deceased, the applicant should attach the death certificates of the deceased parents;
  3. A letter of employment or pay advice or pension advice. It is important to note that SASSA slips cannot be used for this case;
  4. A filled in and signed consent form. The parent or guardian should sign this form. You can access the consent form here.
  • If an applicant submits the form without all the required signatures, the application will be considered as incomplete hence they will not qualify for the bursary.

    It is important to note that the stamp on these documents should not be older than three months.

How to Check your NSFAS Application Status

You can check your application status by visiting and loging into your mynsfas Account with the username ID and password you were provided with when you created the account.

If your status reads ” Provisionally Funded” kindly contact NWU for assistance.

All enquiries must be directed towards NSFAS, since they are the central administrators of the scheme.

North-West University NWU NSFAS Application Closing Date

Prospective students who applied before the closing date of 30 September to study at Nelson Mandela University are urged to apply for National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) loan funding before the closing date of 30 November.

This is regardless of whether they have yet heard from the University on the outcome of their application or not, as the NSFAS process runs separately to the University’s own processes.

No applications for the loan funding will be considered after 30 November.
