TWAS-Abdool Karim Prize for Scientists from Low-Income African Countries in Italy 2017 – 2018

The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) invites applications for TWAS-Abdool Karim Prize in Biological Sciences. Applicants from Low-Income African countries are eligible to apply for this prize.
It is designed to honour women scientists in Low-Income African countries for their achievements in Biological Sciences.
TWAS, the World Academy of Sciences for the advancement of science in developing countries – is an autonomous international organization founded in Triste, Italy. TWAS represent, support and encourage the pursuit excellence in science in developing countries.
Course Level: This prize is available to women scientists.
Study Subject: Prize is awarded in the field of Biological Sciences.
Scholarship Award: This new prize, named after TWAS Fellow Quarraisha Abdool Karim, carries a cash award of USD5, 000 generously provided by Professor Abdool Karim.

Scholarship can be taken in Italy
Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:
Eligible candidates are female scientists who have been living and working in low-income African countries for at least the two years immediately prior to their nomination.
Nationality: Applicants from Low-Income African countries (Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, Dem. Rep, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Equatorial, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Niger, Rwanda, São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe) are eligible to apply for this prize.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have their previous degree.
English Language Requirements: Applicants must meet the necessary language proficiency requirements of the host institution.
