Standard Bank (The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited) is one of the largest financial service firms in the countries. The bank operates in 32 countries (20 in Africa). As a way of contributing to the socio-economic future of the country, Standard Bank Foundation was created so that tertiary students could receive funding to complete their studies.

ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must meet the following minimal criteria before applying:
- South African citizen,
- Currently in Matric,
- Will be in their first year of study in the upcoming year,
- Minimum average of 75% for Mathematics,
- Minimum average of 70% for Physical Science,
- Minimum average of 70% for English FAL OR 60% for English HL,
- Minimum overall average of 70%,
- Proven financial need and unable to secure a loan (except for NSFAS),
- Preferably be studying at one of the following tertiary institutions: University of Cape Town, University of Stellenbosch, University of Johannesburg, University of Pretoria, University of the Witwatersrand, University of KwaZulu-Natal or Rhodes University.
*Please note that preference will be given to students from rural and township areas.
