Application for FireArm License
NEW/FIRST APPLICATION FROM THE DEALERS
- Copy of applicant’s ID
- Pol 151
- Revenue stamp of N$50-00 for each application
- Proof of Safe (receipt or safe inspection by a Police officer)
- Two passport photos
- Purchase receipt of firearm from the dealer
- Original application (Pol 563) signed by the dealer
APPLICATION FOR A SECOND HAND FIREARM SOLD PRIVATELY
- Copy of applicant’s ID
- Pol 151
- Revenue stamp of N$50-00 for each application
- Proof of Safe (receipt or safe inspection by a Police officer)
- Two passport photos
- Statement from the current or licence holder stating that he/she have sold, gave etc. Such firearm to the applicant, copy if ID and a copy of licence.
SECOND OR MORE APPLICATION
- Copy of applicant’s ID
- Pol 151 – Only when there are grounds to believe that applicant has committed or was convicted in any of the schedule 1 offences (in between, after he acquired the last licence).
- Revenue stamp of N$50-00 for each application
- Proof of Safe (receipt or safe inspection by a Police officer)
- Copies of all licences possessed
ADDITIONAL CATEGORIES
- Collecting Hunters, Sportspersons as well as Security Companies – N$100.00 for a Certificate and N$ 25.00 for each licence.
- Dealers (New application/Duplicate or Temporary Licences) – N$ 250.00
- Duplicate For private/individual licences (When lost/Misplaced or damaged) N$25.00 for each licence in the book.
INHERITANCE OR HEIRLOOM
- Copy of applicant”s Id
- Pol 151
- Revenue stamp of N$50-00 for each application
- Proof of safe (receipt or safe inspection by a Police officer)
- Two passport photos
- Copy of deceased Id
- Copy of licence (s)
- Copy of Death certificate
- Letter of executor or last will
- Statement from the surviving or spouse or three (3) relatives with an indication of their Id numbers. Or 1. Copy of Id 2. Copy of license (s) 3. Statement from the licence holder stating that he/she intend to give such arm to applicant.
IMPORT AND EXPORT PERMITS
NB: applications or firearms possessed in foreign countries are to be processed first and will only be imported once licensed in Namibia.
AUTHORIZATION TO POSSESS A FIREARM
NB: Visa must be at least be valid for the next four and above months.
- Purchase receipt of firearm from the dealer or
- License of such firearm from the country of origin
- Proof of safe receipt or statement from Police officer
- Valid passport including the page of the visa
- No revenue stamp, passport photos or VAT
FIREAMRS BOUGHT IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY
- Copy of applicant’s ID
- Pol 151
- Revenue stamp of N$50-00 for each application
- Proof of safe (receipt or safe inspection by a Police officer)
- Two passport photos
- Valuation from at least two different dealers
- Proof of purchase of firearm
- Dealer’s particulars, date stamp and signature on page 2 of Pol 563
- Only original forms are acceptable.

Page 3 g) – Trade or profession: not businessman or self employed but the position held by applicant where she/he held business.
