Literally, metres from the Atlantic Ocean, Cape Cross Lodge presents a unique and serene stop for travelers along this vast untamed and seldom explored wilderness on the Skeleton Coast.
The Lodge is situated 60km north of Henties Bay and 120km north of Swakopmund.
The curious mix of Cape Dutch and West Coast fishing village architecture, nestles colossal windows which embrace the natural light and reveal endless vistas.
Around this idyllic oasis lies infinite ocean and desert, littered with the eerie remains of man’s past endeavours. Nearby, rocky outcrops provide a perfect playground for a large colony of Cape Fur Seals. Visitors can self-drive or even walk to the colony ensuring they first visit the Ministry Office to complete entry requirements.

Campsites . . .
Each of the twenty one campsites is equipped with its own light, with switch and a double 220v plug and own trip switch. A wash basin with cold running water and a work surface serve as an alfresco kitchen. Each site has its own braai area.
There is a central ablution facility with showers, hot and cold running water, flush sanitation, hand basins and mirrors.
Campers are welcome to use the facilities at the lodge which include a Bar & A-la-Carte Restaurant as well as a visit to our “in-house” Museum. The lodge sells ice, wood, blitz, freshly baked bread and other basic food items. Please enquire at reception.
A limited quantity of fuel and diesel is kept on the premises for the campers convenience. Freezing and fish cleaning facilities are also available.
Lock-up facilities are available in the lodge for all safe-keeping of documents, cash and other valuables.
Restaurant . . .
The restaurant offers indoor or Alfresco dining on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. A central fireplace warms the interiors of the dining room and lounge area during winter, while in summer one can enjoy the cool sea breeze on the verandah overlooking the beach.
An extensive À la carte menu consisting of a large array of fresh seafood, game, meats, salads and deserts are available for your selection.
As well as a breakfast buffet and À la carte lunch, dinner is served around open flame fires. Guests can also enjoy afternoon coffee/tea with freshly baked cake.
Day Visitors are more than welcome to stop over and enjoy lunch from our À la carte menu or relax on the verandah with an afternoon Coffee and Cake freshly baked at our restaurant.
Activities and Tours . . .
Cape Cross Lodge is the ideal stop over on your journey from Swakopmund to Terrace Bay, Opuwo, Palmwag and the Kunene Region. Spend a day or more to do some of the excursions offered in the area.
