The University of Edinburgh is pleased to offer David E I Pyott Master of Surgery in Clinical Ophthalmology Scholarship for the year 2017. Students from Africa, South Asia, Caribbean Islands, Pacific Islands, Central and South America are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
The University of Edinburgh, founded in 1582, is the sixth oldest university in the English-speaking world and one of Scotland’s ancient universities.
Applicants have or will have achieved the minimum required score in one of University’s accepted English language tests.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing master’s degree programme at the University of Edinburgh.
Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded in the field of Clinical Ophthalmology.
Scholarship Award: Each scholarship will cover the tuition fee for the entire part-time programme of study as well as provide access to a broadband facility and a laptop. The scholarship is funded by the generous support of the David E I Pyott Foundation.

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for scholarship:
The scholarships will be awarded to students who are accepted for admission on to the online distance learning Master of Surgery (ChM) in Clinical Ophthalmology at the University of Edinburgh. Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so. Applicants should be advanced trainee ophthalmologists or independently practising ophthalmologists.
Nationality: Applicants must be both nationals of and resident in the following countries: (Angola, Argentina, Bolivia, Botswana, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Chile, Colombia, Comoros, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast, Djibouti, Ecuador, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Guyana, Indonesia, Kenya, Lao PDR, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Malaysia, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mozambique, Myanmar, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Seychelles , Sierra Leone, Singapore, Somalia , South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Suriname, Swaziland, Tanzania, Thailand , Togo, Uganda, Uruguay, Venezuela, Vietnam, Zambia and Zimbabwe) are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirements: Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so.
English Language Requirement: The requirement for an IELTS score of 7.0 (or equivalent) may be higher than the level required for admissions purposes.
