Rossing Bursaries in Namibia 2019 – 2020

Rio Tinto Rössing Uranium realises the importance of developing Namibia’s human potential. We have bursaries available to Namibian students who wish to study or who are presently studying the following fields:

Rossing Bursaries

Chemistry

Mechanical / Mechatronics engineering

Metallurgy / Chemical engineering

Mining engineering

Rossing Bursaries Requirements

Namibian citizenship;

70% pass mark for school leavers in the major subjects required for their further studies;

65% average pass mark in major subjects for students already studying at a tertiary institution; and

Acceptance or provisional acceptance at a recognised training institution (if available).

If you meet the mentioned requirements and are interested in this opportunity, kindly submit your application letter, clearly stating your intended field of study. Please attach the following supporting documentation:

1.A completed bursary application form OR a copy of your CV with a covering letter;

2.Certified copies of Grade 12 Certificate, if applicant completed Grade 12 prior to 2015;

3.Certified copies of academic results (2014 year-end and 2015 mid-year results);

4.Certified copies of mid-year,tertiary results, if applicant is currently studying at a tertiary institution;

5.Copies of provisional/admission letters where available; and

6.Certified copy of Namibian ID, passport or birth certificate.

Rossing Bursaries Closing Date: 9 October

As per the Affirmative Action (Employment) act, Act 29 of 1998; Namibian citizens from historically disadvantaged groups, especially women and people living with disabilities will enjoy preferential treatment.

Only short-listed candidates will be contacted. Should you not hear from us six weeks after the deadline, please consider your application unsuccessful. Applications for bursaries in fields of study other than the ones listed above will not be considered.

    Hi I am studying towards a BTEC Level 5 in Mechanical Engineering. This is my first year at the centre for training and projects development (CTPD) in Windhoek. Please it is necessary that I get a bursary to complete my studies.

      Charles, bursaries are not mandatory nor necessary if you can afford you tuition, bursaries are intended to aid less privileged students in covering their tuition fees.

    I am doing diploma in education at ium having 23 points and E in english. I am not qualified to be awarded a loan and I have no where to get money to pay for my course my parents are not working and I am the first born so respectively I am requestng and pleasing a samaritan organisation to assist me with my fee.
